The refill kit is a good way to save money! It does work however i gave it 3 stars because i don't like how the pods grew green algae on the top of the sponge were the plants are sprouting and it grew almost right away about 5 days after planting. My plants are growing and look great, it did save me a good amount of money and i got to use my own seeds. (Posted on 3/1/10)

We bought the do it yourself kits hoping to save a little money, and boy did we ever! We have grown our own seeds for the last 8 months, and have saved soooo much money compared to buying the regular AeroGarden kits. Thanks! We would recommend this kit to anyone who has an AeroGarden.
